Dover planning case goes to Supreme Court

A legal wrangle over a major housing scheme partly within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) near Dover is set for a showdown in the Supreme Court by the end of the year.

Dover District Council and developer China Gateway International have been granted permission by the Supreme Court to appeal a court judgment, which ruled against the permission being granted for the 521-home scheme at Farthingloe.

The planning permission granted by Dover District Council was opposed by Protect Kent, the local branch of the Campaign to Protect Rural England.
